Once Human Announces Massive Balance Adjustment Patch For Mid-December That Buffs Few Builds

Mostly buffs, according to the devs

After monitoring the game and player feedback, Once Human has announced a large preliminary list of upcoming weapon build balance adjustments coming in mid-December. The team at Starry Studios explains that it’s mostly “buffs and environmental changes,” which does seem to be the case so far from what’s been provided.

The biggest highlighted change is essentially an overhaul of the the Bounce effect and keyword. The primary effect itself is getting changed, “enhancing its AoE damage and improving the combat experience for Bounce builds in single-target scenarios.” The new effect is as follows:

After triggering Bounce, your shot will randomly bounce to 1 enemy within a 15-meter radius (if no enemy is nearby, it bounces off the environment). It can then bounce one more time. Each bounce deals Weapon DMG equal to 40% of your Attack.

Due to the massive implications of this new effect, all the items affected by it have been tweaked as well, from weapons to mods.

Meanwhile, in acknowledgement that random effects will have rare extreme chances of not triggering at all their chances have been updated to a “pseudo-random trigger algorithm.” If an effect doesn’t trigger, the game will increase the chances of it triggering until it actually happens. Weapons most heavily affected by this change have seen some tweaks.

Plus, there’s a new MG Turret Specialization called Shadow Shift that inherits the currently equipped weapon and its stats, with Fire Rate changing per type. There are some changes as well to drop rates of calibration blueprints.

The list of changes is quite hefty and is only preliminary, so if you wish to see if any of your favorite weapons or effects were affected, it’s best to see the full post of changes on the official Once Human site

Released this past July, the science fiction/fantasy post-apocalyptic horror survival sandbox action-shooter MMO game has seen regular updates with new additions, improvements, and rotating events. Most recently, the developers updated its multiplayer Scenario system to allow more players to seamlessly join, as well as permitted character deletion, a highly-demanded (even if seemingly basic) feature so that players can restart progress on their servers of choice.
