Old School RuneScape's Newest PvM Challenge Arrives, Take on the Royal Elemental Titans

Old School RuneScape has a new challenge: battle the elemental Royal Titans in the latest new PvM boss fight.

Branda and Eldric, Queen of Fire and King of Frost, await challengers in a two-boss encounter that’s designed to reinforce (or teach, as the team describes it as a “teaching boss encounter”) more about gear switching. The team is building on previous challenges like Scurrius and Perilous Moons to improve your PvM skills.

There's a new video that also gives tips on the encounter, including that the strongest blows you will land are melee, so you'll want to have a melee weapon to pummel them with. Sometimes their elemental attacks and summoning minions will put distance between you and these giant titans, so you'll need range. Again, they’re…elemental, so you'll also want to take advantage of elemental weaknesses for bosses and minions The recommendation for this fight is 70+ combat and appropriate gear for all three styles you'll need to switch between. 

If you want to avoid tons of spoilers, the video is pretty thorough because since it is considered a teaching encounter, they do show off a lot of what you can expect. 

The boss battle is designed as a duo fight, although it is possible to take it on solo if you are really looking for an extra hard challenge (or you just really want to keep any loot for yourself). 

Speaking of loot, expect more unique rewards versus big loot. There’s also a choice to be made as you can only loot one of the titans even after both are down. So choose wisely, depending on the rewards you're looking for. Even if you are working with someone else to take down the bosses, you can both still choose to loot the same titan, so there's no fighting over dibs.

Those rewards include the Twinflame Staff, made from components dropped by both titans. If your target has an elemental weakness, like these bosses, this staff will hit your target with an appropriate spell without you going to your spellbook. The Giantsoul Amulet will also drop from both titans and lets you teleport right to select challenges (including this one). Desiccated Pages drop from both titans. The Mystic Vigour Prayer Scroll from the queen. 

There's also a new pet, which they haven’t revealed to keep the surprise. They’re offering another choice, like they did with Araxxor. If you really want this pet, you can use the Sacrifice option on either titan and you forgo all loot to double your chances to get the pet to drop. Let’s hope luck is on your side. If not, maybe the amulet will drop that lets you teleport fast back to the arena to try again.
