As with all things Old School RuneScape, the community has had a chance to weigh in on the announced Wilderness Boss reworks, and Jagex has responded to some of the major points raised.
Some of the questions raised by the OSRS community on the proposals for boss reworks fell into a few categories. Some were requests for clarity on just where something might actually be located, with the original proposal discussing random exits and different boss lairs moves into an overall cave. Others were concerned over obtaining certain gear, including uniques and the potential for rare items to become even rarer.
Additional feedback covered feature proposals. For example, the ability to get a nondescript peek into a boss lair and find out whether somebody is in there, without ever knowing who or how many (is it the boss alone? Is it a group taking on the boss? Is it idle PKers? Who knows?). Players were concerned that someone could have a scout account that they otherwise aren't using so this might throw off the new feature and discourage real interactions.
The response here was that there might be a requirement for this new system, which could mean a level gate, a fee, a boss kill count requirement, or other criteria, or a combination of things to make the peek something you have to weigh as a decision..
There was also confusion over just where things were, the single way combat alternative routes, and whether the bosses would drop the uniques that players would come to expect. One thing the team has vowed to do was because of the confusion over single way combat alternatives, they will be introducing them in a lore friendly way so as to ease players into the new system.
