Old School RuneScape has now launched Leagues III: Shattered Relics. The mode has new ways to compete and play, as well as the fragment system that will help you unlock better powers while you compete.

While Leagues officially launched at noon GMT, there were issues with save profiles, so the team had to perform a rollback on the main game back to just before today’s update but anybody who had participated in one of the League’s worlds will see their save data intact.

Leagues III: Shattered Relics has you start as a new iron player. You’ll have all the tutorial items but all skills except for defense, fishing, thieving, and a combat skill of your choosing, are locked. By completing tasks you’ll be able to unlock skills, bosses, and quest bundles with your rewards. XP rates will be five times the usual and any death will respawn you at the starting point by town. Waystones in major cities will help you travel between them without a cooldown.  The goals that are new League points are vast, including learning skills or killing monsters,  and completing quests. But since you start with just four skills, your journey will be a little more complicated than usual, which is the point of playing in a challenge mode anyway.

There are also League Firsts, for players who complete League's most impressive feats the fastest, including things like unlocking all bosses, getting a pet, unlocking all skills, or even maxing a fragment

Leagues is a temporary mode but the rewards will stay with you and they include new gear including themed outfits. This time, the Shattered Relic Hunter Outfit is the reward. You can also get a Shattered Relic home teleport animation.  When you use the scroll your character will place down some relics and teleport you over. There’s also a banner and a weapons pack..
