The community asked for it. The team wanted to make it happen. But it wasn't until now that Group Ironman is available in Old School RuneScape. Jagex is marking the release with a new launch trailer for the first new game mode in five years and a special stream.
Group Ironman came about after the release of Clans, which paved the way for its development. Once it passed the community vote approval test. New features are only added if the community votes on them and grants a 75% approval. With the largest vote tally ever of 140,000 votes, Group Ironman passed with 80% approval. This will be available to both members and non-members to enjoy.

Team members will be real allies, since, without restrictions, all on a team can actually trade resources, share equipment storage, and even visit each other's houses. These social elements can build even more camaraderie and offer new options for the community to come together and play. "It’s about earning everything with blood, sweat and tears, through gathering, crafting, and fighting. It’s a real challenge, pushing players to their limits while allowing them to share in the glory with their comrades," said Charles.
To demonstrate the new mode that the team is proud to launch, as the new evolution of group play in Old School RuneScape, there will be a special stream event tonight, featuring four teams on a special temporary creator-only game world with XP and drop bonuses that will be active just to show off the mode. The first stream will start at 2pm Eastern/11am Pacific and the second stream will start at 7pm Eastern/ 4pm Pacific on the Old School RuneScape Twitch channel.
