Old School RuneScape Gets Lots of Hotfixes for Nex Update, So You Can Kill Her Now

The Old School RuneScape update for Nex: the Fifth General was released yesterday and immediately, the community started giving feedback and reports about several major bugs for the dungeon. Today, the team has issued several hotfixes, described an additional fix coming, and responded to feedback.

The release of Nex was initially went awry when the team started receiving reports that Nex was immune to damage in certain phases of combat. When your boss can't be attacked or taken down, clearly that's not going to work for a dungeon. They fixed it quickly and now you can take her down without issue.

Two different issues with drops have also been fixed. One was a general missing drops bug and the other happened in a very large group. Both of these have been addressed. In the case of the large group problem, max capacity has been reduced from 80 to 60 because this was a memory issue on an old build. If memory capacity is reached the game will start to delete items if there are too many of them on the same tile.

The game will delete lower value items first, using the Grand Exchange as indicator, but a few changes like supply drop quantity reduction and the capacity change should help. Those who take her on in large groups will still have the same shot at uniques but overall number will be smaller. Among other changes were adjustments to make Nex more challenging in those very large groups. The 60-person cap should help, but her attacks were also adjusted a bit.

One fix that didn’t make it in yet is that the Nex pet wasn’t added to the all pets collection, but this will be fixed in next week’s update.

Aside from just the series of fixes, there was also some player feedback and a request to be able to take on Nex in private instances. This is something they’re listening to and will consider moving into a feedback change.

For the full list of fixes, and how they will impact the Nex fight, head to the updated notes here over at Old School RuneScape.
