In a precautionary measure, Jagex has disabled shared item storage during the new Group Ironman event in Old School RuneScape. According to the team, the shared storage will stay inaccessible for the remainder of the weekend, with only group leaders able to withdraw and deposit items.

Jagex is investigating some reports of ‘unintended item behavior’ in Old School RuneScape which has thus far resulted in the necessary disablement of shared storage. Despite the ongoing investigation, Jagex wants players to know that this is a precautionary action, and has not disclosed any evidence of anything untoward happening.

This is an investigation into reports of unintended item behaviour related to the storage. There's nothing to suggest anything untoward, disabling item storage is just a precautionary action. We thank you for your patience, and we'll update you when we can.

Late yesterday Jagex provided an update to the investigation, stating that they have made progress, but the investigation is ongoing, and shutting down the shared storage was a necessary precaution to take. However, they did open up the ability for group leaders to deposit and withdraw items from the shared storage.

All of these issues have fallen on the release of the Group Ironman’s launch, which is a mode that allows players to group together for an Ironman mode, which utilizes a shared storage that should normally be available to all players in the Ironman Group. You can learn more about the Group Ironman mode on the official page.

Players may remember back in April RuneScape ran into another issue where players could not log in due to a lockout. The issue lasted nearly two months to get completely sorted. While we don’t anticipate a similar problem with Old School RuneScape, we do know that this does affect players who were really excited to make some headway with Group Ironman this weekend.
