Oktoberbrawl Begins - You Can Help Your Favorite Team

Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft News - Hearthstone's "Oktoberbrawl" has officially kicked off. Participants on each of the two teams will be gifted ten Classic card packs as well as a Welcome Bundle. In addition, every Monday through October 10th, players on both teams will be gifted another ten packs from two different expansions and one team member will be given a second pack award "based on a percentage of total wins earned in Ranked Play by players using their team's card back". "Regular players" can help them earn even more.

Two unique card backs -- Void and Light -- are available to Twitch Prime members who then equip one to represent their team of choice. Doing so helps the backed team unlock more card packs to help them win the day (or week...or month...).

Here's how Oktoberbrawl works: Two teams are chosen as the participants, each with three players. The community then chooses which team to back throughout the month-long battle. 

You won’t just battle on behalf of your team, you'll get to watch the results of your efforts in action as Oktoberbrawl battles are streamed on the official Hearthstone twitch channel. Each team member will also stream their efforts to bolster their Oktoberbrawl decks (Remember: the only time they can play Oktoberbrawl decks is during a live stream!).

Watch as your favorite player opens packs on stream and strives to build the strongest deck possible, leading up to a Friday grudge match each week! The winning team of each grudge match gets to choose a penalty that will be applied to the opposing team during the finals at TwitchCon!

Oktoberbrawl will follow this schedule:

• September 11-15: Wild Week – Weekly Packs: 10 packs each of Goblins vs Gnomes and The Grand Tournament
• September 18-22: Kraken Week – Weekly Packs: 10 packs each of Whispers of the Old Gods and Mean Streets of Gadgetzan
• September 25-29: Mammoth Week – Weekly Packs: 10 packs each of Journey to Un’Goro and Knights of the Frozen Throne
• October 2-6: Adventure Week – Weekly Cards: Surprise Format!
