Nonprofit Gay Gaming Professionals, or GGP, has teamed up with arcade company Raw Thrills to create a new Collegiate Gaming Competition, with $90K in prize money on the line for the winner.
The new competition, which includes universities such as USC Games, USC Marshall School of Business, DePaul's Jarvis College of Computing and Digital Media, among others, brings game development students together to create everything from the games themselves to their marketing strategies and game trailer concepts.
The teams will then present the games to a panel of industry veterans, culminating in a livestreamed ceremony this July.
GGP will also have. a presence at this week's Game Developers Conference in the heart of San Francisco, including GDC Nights programming, mixers, and a fireside chat featuring Amir Satvat, who recently was awarded the first ever The Game Awards Game Changer Award last December for his work in helping ultimate resources for laid off games industry workers.
