The senior character artist at Naughty Dog, Del Walker, has made an interesting statement about The Last of Us 2’s new No Return Mode via X.
Fans of The Last of Us franchise are in for the ride of their lives, as Del Walker has stated,
“I don't think you guys are ready for just how STRESSFUL the survive mode is for our #TLOU2remastered title. Not recommended for weak hearts.”
The trailer showing off the games interesting take on a roguelike gives fans a small peek as to what they might be in for. Players will be able to seamlessly transition between crafting, shooting, and melee in order to survive the new mode, but why exactly is it so stressful?

The goal of the new mode is to survive as long as possible during each run and players will need to choose what path they want to take during a series of completely random encounters. There will be enemies and locations from The Last of Us Part II, but whatever path a player chooses to take all leads to one place; extremely stressful and intense boss battles.
