The next No Man's Sky update is being prepared for deployment next week. Called "The Abyss", the content is said to focus "on some of the eerier elements of NMS in keeping with the theme of this season.
The Abyss is the first "titled update" since the launch of the Next update in August, but it is hardly the only patch deployed since then. Over the preceding weeks, NMS has received weekly patches that add new community missions and improve existing features. Players have also enjoyed "large gameplay additions like the Pilgrim motorbike and companion features such as addition of discovery leaderboards to the Galactic Atlas allowing the community to track progress between factions".
