New No Man’s Sky experimental content was released to the branch earlier, bringing a rather odd change.

The notes for the experimental branch change are extremely brief,

“Improved performance on integrated Intel GPUs by disabling anamorphic lensflare.”

That’s literally it. If you’re interested in checkout out the experimental branch, you’ll have to opt-in on Steam. To do so, right-click on No Man’s Sky from the Steam library page and select “Properties”. Among the available tabs will be the “BETAS” tab. Enter “3xperimental” in the textbox and press “CHECK CODE”, then select it from the dropdown menu.

However, Hello Games recently did announce the Desolation update. This content update is rather large and finally brings the exploration of derelict ships to No Man’s Sky. You can check out the trailer for the Desolation update below;

Additionally, No Man’s Sky recently received cross-play. You can now play with your friends on PS4, Xbox One, and PC regardless of platform. You can check out that announcement along with the patch note here.
