According to the Seattle Times, there will be no criminal charges filed against 38 Studios or Curt Schilling after a long investigation. Investigators wrote that there were "no provable criminal violations" of Rhode Island law. The investigation of key personnel at 38 Studios has been going on since 2012.
Democratic Gov. Gina Raimondo has no plans to call for an additional investigation and continues to support all efforts to recover as much taxpayer money as possible, a spokeswoman said.
The findings of the criminal courts will not, however, stop pending civil court proceedings. The case is set to go to trial later this year.
