A Canadian court has awarded Nintendo of America $12.76M in its lawsuit against Jeramie King and his Go Cyber Shopping Ltd. King's company sold devices designed to circumvent Nintendo's console security to download and play unauthorized copies of its games. Nintendo proved that these devices and programs were in violation of its copyrights and trademarks. The award also includes $1M in punitive damages and requires King to publicly apologize for damages to Nintendo, developers & partners.

We will continue to protect the creative works of our developers and vigorously enforce our intellectual property rights against those that attempt to steal or misuse them.”
