Nintendo has finally announced its next iteration on the Switch, this time pithily called "Switch Lite". The new version is considered as being "dedicated to handheld gaming" and features integrated controls rather than joycons. Switch Lite will be available starting September 20th for a retail price of $199.99. It comes in three colors: Yellow, turquoise and gray. A special Pokemon Edition has also been announced that will be available "while supplies last".
Switch Lite does not offer many of its bigger sibling's options such as a kickstand for tabletop gaming or support for video output to televisions. However, it can play all of the games currently in the Nintendo Switch library that support handheld mode. Players can find their favorite games on the Nintendo e-Shop and look for the handheld symbol.
- there will be a data transfer option to move save games from Switch to Switch Lite
- some games included: Pokemon Sword & Shield
- battery life is 3-7 hours
