The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild fans can check out new information about the game's just-announced expansion pass. Players will pay out $20 and will gain access to expansion content over the course of 2017. That $20 will net the Cave of Trials challenge, hard mode and a new map feature.
In addition:
- the Expansion Pass will be available for both Wii U and Switch
- three treasure chests will sit on the Great Plateau at launch, one with a Nintendo shirt to wear in game, the other two with unknown (but useful!) items inside
The world of Hyrule, which we created for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, is so large and vibrant that we wanted to offer more for players to experience within it,” said Nintendo developer Eiji Aonuma, the longtime producer of the series. “With this new Expansion Pass, we hope that fans will play, explore and enjoy the game even more.
