New World: Aeternum is getting a taste of spooky season with the arrival of Nightveil Hallow on October 22nd. The pumpkinites, led by Baalphazu, are invading and now is your chance to stop them and collect some loot.
This is a returning Halloween event but, given that New World: Aeternum just got a big launch on console (and reboot on PC), it's going to be a new one for many. You’ll have to help Salvatore the Mad to help beat back the invasion and stop the living nightmare that is spreading as a result over Aeternum. And you'll get to go trick or treating for rewards and earn some event currency to pick out a few things for yourself.
The event runs from October 22nd to November 5th. It's not Halloween without costumes, so you'll be able to find them at town centerpieces and by defeating Baalphazu. Your options are Adiana, Anubian Reaver, Captain Thorpe, Lost Monarch, or Trick-or-Treat. You can access baskets three times a day before the daily reset at 5:00 a.m. local time.
Dress up and then start searching towns for hidden treat baskets with chances to drop Baalphazu armor set pieces, 2 Nightveil tokens, and candy. There are four flavors of candy to collect and each one is a limited-time consumable with a different effect.
Did we say defeat Baalphazu? Yes, we did. This is a level 66 World boss and if you win, you'll also get armor pieces to drop, additional costumes, and Ichor. Collect the Ichor to get even more rewards, since you can exchange each ne for a Nightveil Cauldron cache containing 7-13 Nightveil Tokens, a random Nightveil Hallow weapon pattern, cin bags, and more.
As you collect tokens you can browse the event shop and plan out what you want to exchange them for. There are a few available emotes, including Skeleton Twirl, “Walk around like a thing from a bad horror movie”, Tremble in Fear, and Possessed Walk, There are also a number of helm skins, updated Nightveil Hallow weapon patterns, the Hexed Canopy Tent skin, and a few furniture items, like the Summoning Circle and Basket of Treats.
The New World: Aeternum team has outlined the rewards and details in the event announcement, and promise deep dives into the event design, audio, and lore soon.
