Nightingale’s massive overhaul, the Realms Rebuilt update, has a release date.
On September 12th, prepare for a new progression tree, increased structure limits, revamped Sites of Power, and the introduction of Storied Realms for a more guided experience. The massive update changes so much that there will be a progression wipe and a reset, so you'll have to start a new character.
On the way is a more structured way to play Nightingale. The survival crafting game’s Realms are a central part of the experience and the team will continue this. Yet, there was feedback that the Realms themselves were not very enough, they didn't feel unique, and it almost felt repetitive. In addition to this, the team reported that some players just didn't really have enough direction for a satisfying experience.
Enter Storied Realms. These are what they call handcrafted realms and will accompany the game’s new campaign. Puck will return to guide you some more. This more structured path is intended to be more immersive for all and to give some direction. Access Storied Realms via portals around the landmark, The Crossways, a new hub. While these are where you will spend most of the time in the main questline, the procedurally generated realms that Nightingale players are familiar with will still play a part in your journey.
Sites of Power have been revamped and expanded upon, and there are a number of new dungeons and bosses to challenge, offering additional goals.
These are major changes, and since there will be a wipe, the team will offer an opportunity to save your Respite Realm for use in offline mode. If you do this, that save will not get any future content updates, but you'll still be able to preserve that realm if you choose to.
