Inflexion Games is revealing more about Nightingale’s Realms Rebuilt update. The update aims to have more of what the community enjoys about the game, while also expanding on certain features, refining others, and creating more of a sense of structure  to increase immersion.

These are major changes on the way. The team laid out some of them in a previous devblog, including the brand new progression system, an increase to structure limits, and revealing a progression reset to make it all possible. This second set of reveals is focused on the Realms themselves and how they're looking to improve the experience.

They aim to create unique and varied Realms to create a deeper sense of adventure, And make them more exciting to explore, in addition to more immersive. One way they're doing this is with  “Storied Realms”. These are “handcrafted Realms set within the existing biomes, each designed with its own theme, aesthetic, and challenges”, coming as part of a new campaign. You’ll even be able to set your Respite point in a Storied Realm if you want.

Yes, Nightingale is getting a new campaign. Puck will return in all new voiced content to guide you through new quests, challenges, and to discover these handcrafted Realms. The premise of the overall story will continue, and procedurally generated Realms will continue to have a role.

With the progression reset, everyone starts by The Crossways, a collection of portals to the Storied Realms you’ll discover. This is where everyone will start, serving as a hub, but  you'll be able to explore and find other locations, as well as begin progression via the new tree.

This added structure is designed to lend some guidance, revamp the story, and add more of the positively-received encounters and challenges as finales to work towards. This should make things feel more rewarding and set some goals.

The new Sites of Power are related, as these are all new, and each dungeon will offer challenges and puzzles with completely new boss battles at the end. Each of these  dungeons will also get distinctive new locations. We'll also get more points of interest, as well as new challenges to take on, and an increase in  types of challenges. POIs We'll play a special role in the  previously announced changes to essences.

These are just some of the features on the way, and we can probably expect something next week at Gamescom as well as more before the update actually hits late this summer.
