As part of the one year anniversary celebration of Pokemon Go, Niantic has revealed a number of "live" events taking place around the world this summer. Non-attendees need not worry either. There will be tie-in events for trainers unable to attend a live event too.
Here's where you can participate in a live event:
- Chicago - July 22nd - Attendees at the live event and players around the world will work cooperatively during Challenge Windows to unlock perks to catch certain types of Pokemon. Those in Chicago will decide together which type of Pokemon they catch. Those outside Chicago will simply try to catch as many Pokemon as possible to extend the Challenge Windows and, if enough are caught, will also unlock a mystery event.
-
Pokemon Go Safari Zones - Europe taking place at Unibail-Rodamco shopping centers. Players will be able to hunt in special zones to catch Pokemon never seen in Europe prior to these events. Players can also take part in raids.
- August 5th - Copenhagen and Prague
- August 12th - Stockholm and Amstelveen
- September 16th - Oberhausen, Paris, Barcelona
- Pikachu Outbreak - August 9-14 - Yokohama. More will be revealed about how Pokemon Go will fit into the annual Pikachu Outbreak event.
