With the release of the Fallout TV series, it appears the nostalgic feel of the show has brought many players back to the Fallout games, and this has put a major strain on the game's biggest mod site, Nexus Mods.

The new Fallout show has netted itself some very positive press, as most people who start to watch it can’t seem to get enough until they realize they binged the entire first season. As we all eagerly await season 2, which was confirmed last week by Amazon, players are flocking to NexusMods to hop back into their favorite Fallout installment in style.

On Nexus Mod's Status page, the team reports heavy traffic, pointing directly to the Fallout TV show as the cause:

“ We are experiencing much more traffic than usual due to the popularity of the Fallout TV series. We have deployed extra resources where possible and we are monitoring the uptime and performance across the network. We have staff on call at all times to deal with any problems.

Please do be aware that this extra traffic could cause a degraded experience across the website and our applications.”

While Nexus Mods has been aware of the issue since April 19th, it appears they are still struggling to resolve the problem as more players access the site for Fallout mods. According to PCGamesN, there are 48k mods for Fallout 4 alone, so it's no wonder there are some latency and lag issues with everyone trying to snag the latest mod or one they previously enjoyed all at once.

Taking a peek at SteamDB, you can see clearly that there has been a major surge in Fallout players in general, and it can only be assumed it's from the new show bringing in more attention than ever.
