More discussion also unfolded this week over content

The Ashes of Creation Alpha Two will move to extend server availability starting next week as phase 2 begins.

This phase begins on January 16th. As promised, Intrepid says to expect servers up for at least five days a week for those who have access. The team announced what their schedule is set to look like. Right now, the servers are temporarily up 24/7 through January 13th, with restarts every day and down time for fixes and updates. From January 16th, servers are scheduled to be online from Thursday at 10:00 a.m. PT to Monday at 10:00 p.m. PT.  On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, there will be downtime and fixes and whatever the team needs to accomplish before the servers go live again.

This is just the second phase, with plans for Phase III to begin on May 1st. For those in the final group of alpha access, when that phase begins, their goal is to be up 24/7, with very minimal downtime for updates.

The announcement of the next phase also brings to mind recent feedback, reactions, and a dash of controversy over a video posted by a creator, Narc, and subsequent response from Creative Director Steven Sharif. The video showed some allegedly incomplete and empty sections and Narc mentioned possibly leaving and not making more AoC content.

Responses over the past several days have continued, with Sharif himself sharing footage of the area that Narc had showed in the video, and turning around to demonstrate all of the things that were actually live now in the desert area, calling the Narc video misleading. Both also talked to Asmongold to discuss the situation. The video and interviews are lengthy, and here if you’re interested in keeping up.

Ashes of Creation is in alpha, and it’s moving into a new phase very soon. (That next phase is still alpha. )
