Nexon's The First Descendant Moves Up Content Releases After Season Was 'Lacking', Previews March Update

Nexon’s The First Descendant is getting some tweaks to its content schedule. The team previewed next month’s moved-up Season 2: Episode 2: Beyond the Void.

The TFD team has been receptive to community feedback in the past, and this time it seems like they are listening once again. The previously announced a seasonal content cadence, but determined that the seasonal updates weren't robust enough to really be compelling and they were overall lacking in quality and scale. This is why  the March update will now be Season 2, episode 2. 

Next, Season 3 will launch in the summer with completely new content. The third season will also include the first anniversary celebration, a new collaboration,  and more to be announced later.

Beyond the Void will add new story content that takes Descendants into a new region, Sigma Sector. You’ll not only discover some new clues about Gley’s daughter, Dia, but fight a new enemy, Obliviant. This is a squad of Descendants that have fallen under control of the Vulgus. 

The update will also Serena, a new Descendant with the fire attribute who can fly and attack using her skills while in the air. A new Ultimate Descendant, Ultimate Blair, will also be released as part of the new episode. Finally, if you were lacking in cut assistants, a Labrador Retriever Arche Fellow is on the way. Instead of automatically dismantling items, this pup can gain additional rounds. A new tuning system will let you enhance Arche and boost your Descendants’ performance.

The team is planning to rework ultimate weapons and to rebalance rare weapons. Other stuff added included a Valentine's Day event, new emotes, a cheesecake-y winter Hot Springs area in Albion, and special Hot Springs skins, with female Descendants also getting new hairstyles.  We can expect skin releases roughly every two weeks.

The First Descendant also has some new Operations. Now running are Several login campaigns that can get you customization and enhancement materials, other login  rewards and a series of daily missions.
