Nexon launched its looter-shooter, The First Descendant, yesterday, and it's fair to say the reaction has been mixed. Couple that with launch day issues that have plagued the live service, and Nexon is promising compensation for the trouble.
The First Descendent is a free-to-play RPG looter shooter that gives off Destiny and Gears of War-type vibes. From epic boss battles that seemingly take forever to hardcore fights with monsters that litter the grounds, there is plenty of content to go around.
With that said, some players are having the time of their lives, while others feel as though The First Descendent missed the mark. Nexon has also mentioned that they are aware of certain issues and are working to address them. Some of the issues mentioned were players being moved to Albion accidentally after starting the mission Special Operations, as well as the client terminating the player's session due to certain Antivirus programs triggering a force-close.
To apologize to players due to these issues, Nexon has planned compensation to players for their troubles. This includes a gold gain boost, Descendant XP boost, Weapon Mastery XP boosters and more. The compensation is only available to players who log in before July 7th at 11:59 pm, so you've got a few days to jump in and claim the make good.
Though the title quickly rose to the top of the Steam charts, even surpassing Elden Ring: Shadow of Erdtree as a best seller, though it should be noted that The First Descendant is free-to-play, that milestone quickly fell flat after over 4,000 reviews rolled in describing issues players had with the game after putting in some playtime. At the time of writing, The First Descendent peaked at 229,257 people in-game concurrently yesterday, so it can’t be all too horrible, but only time will tell how long those numbers will stay that high.
