Nexon continues to expand upon its core classic MapleStory franchise, this time with the newly announced Maple Island theme park attractions.
The new Maple Island will draw its theme from the classic MMORPG for three new attractions. They include a rollercoaster. There will also be family attractions along with themed merchandise and food, as well as an “interactive area” completely inspired by the MapleStory IP. This island will open at the Lotte World Adventure in Seoul, South Korea, which is an outdoor theme park.
Expect the opening sometime in the first half of 2026, in case you want to travel to spend time on Maple Island. We can also expect “nostalgic and all-new experiences for long-time fans and newcomers to participate first-hand in the enchanting world of MapleStory”. This seems like it may just be the start of something with the potential to grow.
Even in announcing the new theme park attractions, Nexon announced them globally via press release. MapleStory has been running with a strong global community for 22 years. Beyond expanding to theme parks and real world attractions, MapleStory Fest has been successfully letting fans gather to hear new reveals, to meet up, get new and limited merch and celebrate all things MapleStory. MapleStory: Worlds recently launched with full-fledged building tools and ways to learn how to create interactive experiences that you can share with friends and even earn from your creations.
As for Maple Island, there is info on the official site (in Korean).
