New Year's Festivities and a Magical Collab Coming to Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis for Super Genesis Festival

The Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis team is ushering in the new year with the second phase of the Super Genesis Festival ‘24. Central City has been transformed into a festive hub, complete with a host of New Year’s decorations and wintery-themes. The festival has introduced new ways to earn Seasonal Points, tackle Limited-Time Tasks, and collect rewards to kick off 2025 in style.

If you haven't jumped into the Super Genesis Festival you still have a lot of things left to collect, starting January 1, players can take advantage of a campaign offering 10 free SG Scratch Tickets daily, with up to 100 total pulls available. It’s the perfect time to find some new unique items, and support items will be available as well to help you receive a boost throughout the event.

The celebration keeps rolling along with three New Year-themed Scratch Tickets featuring remixed favorites including nostalgic items from past New Year's updates, and the return of classic PSO2-spec emotes and Weapon Camos. Later in the month, players will be able to team up in the limited-time quest “Drill: Large Enemy Clean-up Op” to take down Giant Mutants in the Stia Outskirts. Starting January 13, drop rates for this event will skyrocket to 250%, so don't miss it if you're looking for specific event rewards.

For solo adventurers, a new challenge arrives on January 15 with the Ruine Masquerader boss battle. This solo quest features its own progression system, with players unlocking deeper depths of the fight as they climb through the ranks. Exclusive rewards and Limited-Time Tasks await those who take on this formidable foe, and it should be a fun challenge for ARKS defenders who have been looking for an event they can take on alone.

If that wasn’t enough, PSO2: NGS has teased an exciting collaboration with the anime A Certain Magical Index III. The collab launches in February 2025, with a special visual created by Sega's NGS art team, and released to their followers on twitter.
