Gearing up for Wrath of the Lich King Classic for World of Warcraft, Blizzard's latest dev blog covers the art of Inscription awaiting potential scribes when the expansion arrives later this year.
If you're looking to become a scribe, you’ll want to take your first steps when the pre-expansion patch launches. You can look for Inscription trainers in your nearest capital city and start your learning process. Once you're there, you'll have to find materials, specifically ink and parchment you'll be able to create things by combining pigments, so be prepared to engage in some gathering and crafting. Because pigments generally come from herbs or plants, pairing Inscription with Herbalism is a good idea. Or you can be ready to have enough gold to pay for your materials in the Auction House.
In Wrath of the Lich King Classic, Glyphs may work in an unfamiliar way if your only experience is on more modern live servers. You'll be able to learn some of the Glyphs you need from profession trainers and research some more on your own. When you learn new Glyphs you'll get scrolls and other rewards that will help too.
When the patch launches, you'll notice that there's a tab for Glyphs and you'll have up to six slots that will unlock as you level through the expansion. Further, there will be Minor Glyphs and Major Glyphs and you can have three of each kind active at any given time.
When it comes to Inscription, reading the full blog serves as a good refresher if you haven't been through this process in a while. In order to make the most of Inscription, as well as learning Glyphs and using them, or even selling these powerful enhancements to others, you should enter the new content prepared to continue to research new Glyph possibilities and to keep gathering supplies to avoid being shorthanded.
