New World’s Rise of the Angry Earth expansion will be here tomorrow, and Amazon has shared the patch notes, sale and unlock details, and more to expect from the expansion and base game tomorrow.
The expansion will become available for purchase and download tomorrow at 9 AM PT/ 12 PM ET. Amazon had previously emphasized there would be no pre-orders, but there are two different ways to get the expansion. If you already own the base game, you can buy the expansion on its own for $29.99. if you don't have the base game you can buy both as the New World Elysian Edition for $69.99.
We can expect a lot in this expansion, as the team has been previewing over the past several weeks since it was announced. The zone once known as First Light is now shrouded in tangles and rendered nearly impassable. So, of course, this is where you’ll want to go. In the name of exploration and to make some new discoveries. For veterans of adventuring in Aeternum, your destination and fight will be with Artemis, who is behind this new Angry Earth and, with it, the awakening of the Beast Lords. The beasts all over are the key to mounts finally joining Aeternum.
The team has increased the level cap to 65 and the gear score cap to 700 in the new content, which also adds the new Flail weapon. Designed for tanking and healing, it promises to fill some build option gaps that have been present. The Savage Divide Expedition is also one of the new highlights, as well as a new Heartrune ability that lets you transform into a beast yourself. Of course, Season 3 also begins, with a new refreshed rewards track.
The update is packed with changes, and if you are waiting to jump into the expansion, reading the full notes will help you get prepared. If you don't intend to buy the expansion, the team has admittedly said that there will be some disadvantages, but they will attempt to balance things to keep players at least at a level of viable participation.
The patch notes for tomorrow's update include the expansion content and changes to the base game. Amazon has been promising reworks and overhauls including the removal of wards and banes, a rework of perks, as well as additional changes to trade skills and removal of Umbral Shards for gear upgrades.
