New World recently posted an article detailing the extensive items available in the world, ranging from potions and tinctures to legendary weapons and trinkets.
The announcement titled 'Items in New World' was posted on the official website and goes in-depth explaining food, drinks, potions, tinctures, weapon coatings, weapons, armor, and crafting resources. The most interesting news comes in the way of their explanation on how weapons and armor will be categorized into different rarities depending on the number of perks it has. An item can drop with up to 3 perks on it, pulled from a pool of potential Perks. This system in bears a striking resemblance to Diablo's own RNG loot tables and New World is even pulling another card from Diablo's deck: socketable gems.
Like in Diablo II and Diablo III, New World's gear can occasionally drop with an open Gem Slot. Anyone can socket a gem into an item, but in true MMORPG fashion the gems must be cut first by a skilled Jewel Crafter. We will have to wait until July for the Closed Beta to learn morea about these systems, but in the meantime you can read about theTools and Weapons of Warthat will be utilized in PvP.
