The latest New World community Q&A is here, and the team covers content and bug fixes, seasonal narrative, and adjustments, PvP , and community feedback and how they aim to improve in their response.

Since Scot Lane promised that the next major announcement would be held until June, this Q&A is the last one until after that major announcement happens. They're getting a lot of questions that they can't answer right now and waiting until after the major announcement will both reduce frustration from all the lack of answers and let them do an extra-long Q&A once the cat is out of the bag. That said, in this discussion they also emphasize that they are listening to player feedback on Discord and on social media and are working to regain the trust of the community after some admitted missteps.

Also on the topic of frustration is the question that touches on why bugs and issues present on the PTR make it to live, despite reports and feedback. That comes down to, “we can’t fix everything that comes up,” Lane says, pointing out that they have a backlog of needed fixes, and they have to prioritize. Anything that is game breaking or really offsets balance is something they will put at the top of the list but, stuff that's lower priority is just going to have to wait a little longer.

When it comes to season long narratives and storyline quests, the team reiterated that they were intended to be temporary and not create a long series of more stuff for new players. So, despite prior inquiries,  they have no plans to restore them. That said, David Verfaillies reveal that the team will be shifting their focus, saying “moving forward we're probably going to be doing less and do seasonal narratives”, with Lane adding that they will focus on more repeatable content that will  stick around. The main storyline is where their big one-off updates will come, along with new repeatable content.

As for PVP, matchmaking is still in process and they are working on it. They're also working on how to improve competitive play experiences and  to make PVP feel more rewarding for your time.
