New World’s major Brimstone Sands update is coming on October 18th, and there’s a new progression bonus event starting tomorrow to help you get your characters leveled up in preparation for the new content.

With recent population increases and demand enough to lead to some new servers opening up, there is some more attention on New World. The game just marked its first anniversary and the team is pushing forward with the next update, which will bring a ton of content and the new zone of Brimstone Sands.

From tomorrow, October 5th, at 12:01 a.m. Pacific time through October 17th at 11:59 p.m. Pacific time, there will be a 1.5x character XP bonus event. This will also modify resting XP.  If you've been looking to try New World, or if it's been awhile since you've jumped in, this is a good time to get into Aeternum before the new content is out.

Tonight, there will be a patch beginning at 11PM PT, and this one is a housekeeping update. The patch will fix a server crash issue that was caused by the AI navigation system. Also getting fixed is an issue that was not letting weapon skins display in the player’s hands in the in-game store. This should start to show up correctly.

Additionally, an issue that was incorrectly counting a player’s PTR characters against the regional character limit number will be fixed. With the Brimstone Sands update still on the PTR for testing, it seems that there has been a good response from the community in terms of participation. Fixing a bug like this should only help, especially since there are no plans to change the character limit per region at this time. With the opening of new servers, Amazon has been clear on that in each announcement.

For more, head over to New World.
