You’ll receive a new client for New World when its preview hits Steam next week.
The preview, set to occur on August 25, will allow pre-order players, alpha testers, and anyone who signed up for beta test before July 9. You’ll be able to join in the preview, and share your experiences, implying there’s no NDA.
However, if you participated in the previous tests, Amazon notes that you’ll receive a new client which is different than the client you used previously. Therefore, you can feel free in uninstall this old client. The new client will be called New World Preview.
In fact, access to the old client will be revoked today. The preview next week arrives after the announcement last month of the game’s delay into 2021. Speaking about the delay, Studio Director Rich Lawrence wrote,
“As a result, we will be changing our launch date - and correspondingly, our final beta test - to spring 2021. We don't make the decision lightly, and we have urgency about getting the game to you as quickly as possible at the best quality -- with some additions that will make the experience even better.”
