New World has expanded the PTR test for the upcoming Season 3 update, Eternal Frost. The test now includes additional narrative content, events, and some fixes.
Eternal Frost will be out on December 12th, and the PTR opened earlier this month, with several new features. Among them are the Glacial Tarn Mutated Expedition, the new season 4 Artifacts, the beginning of the narrative content, the rewards track and season pass, Winter Convergence and inventory improvements.
The latest PTR update adds the return of the Legacy of Crassus event and disabled the Winter Convergence Festival from the test build. Those testing the new update also get the chance to test the Season 4 Narrative Eternal Frost Soul Trial. These promise to be an important part of season 4, and now you can get a taste of them if you’re interested in testing out the content to help the devs polish it up.
Crafting changes are also getting some new material to test, with Chromatic Seals and Dark Matter added to player backstories. Backstory loadouts caches with the new additions are now available.
Legacy of Crassus represented successful reward changes the first time it was held, so we’ll have to see what the team has in store for the next iteration of the event.
The team has also taken care of some stability issues and bugs that popped up during the first wave of the PTR.
