Season 2, Blood of the Sands, begins tomorrow in New World and Amazon games has announced details on the downtime and the release notes for what we can expect when the update goes live.

Downtime for the update is scheduled to begin across all service regions at 5:00 a.m. Pacific time, 8:00 a.m. eastern, or 12:00 p.m. UTC. There's a brand new story for the season centered around Brimstone Sands. Not only is there a mysterious organization calling themselves Blood Of The Sands, led by a man named Malek, there is a massive sand wurm known as the Devourer.

Both of these things tie together because the group  has suddenly appeared and is looking for eggs to have more sand wurms. The Silver Crows are back, and there's a new character named Rima, a bard that will help you out as you investigate the secrets of this group and their order, as well as the history of the Devourer, who they call Shah Neshen.

The Devourer also lends its name to the new Heartrune ability, Where you can make a sandworm first from the ground inflict a ton of damage.

Arena of Shah Neshen is the brand new Elite Trial, so the sand wurm won’t be far from anyone’s mind. This is a PvE challenge designed to be a test for  20 max level players. Team has been touting this one for a while, and  they've said that they will take feedback from testing as well as Community feedback after the mode is released to help guide their future  raid designs.

Speaking of raids,  with this update and season you will be able to create a raid group of up to 20 players to coordinate, work together, and even share rewards across open world activities.

A new weekly challenge also arrives, The Hatchery. Mysterious sand wurm eggs are involved here again, and you'll have to stop waves of enemies and their plot to hatch them.

With the arrival of a new season, there is a brand new Season Pass, which the team has detailed, down to every single possible reward you can earn. This also opens a new PVP reward track. There are other promised features coming in season 2, with Transmog being the biggest one, but that won't hit until sometime in the middle of the season. However, you will be able to start earning Transmog tokens with the pass.

For full details, see the release notes, including all the fixes, quality of life changes, adjustments to Brimstone Sands to support the new content, and balance changes
