The New World team is talking a little bit about their plans for First Light and how things will be changing in Season 2 when that area becomes inaccessible.
The talk comes in the latest Forged in Aeternum video, and the first thing the team makes sure to do is reassure everyone that whoever has furniture or stuff in first light, it will be moved into storage. You will still be able to access that storage to remove items, but not put any new ones in while the transitions are happening. If you own home or territory in First Light, that will be refunded.
As far as the lore goes, if you remember your early game experiences meeting Adiana, a huntress who helps you and later, run into again, she plays a role here. There were hints that she might not quite be who she appears to be - something that is revealed to be true in Brimstone Sands when she's revealed as an Ancient–Artemis. She's a bit mad about what you did with the Motherwell. So, back to that “it’s a very fun carrot that we’ve put in front of the player to lead them through these stories and to be able to surprise folks and build a more chaotic entry into Gods,” says Johannes Rasinkangas, New World’s Storytelling Producer.
Adiana has invaded First Light and there’s a bramble wall around where it was. There’s more beyond the vegetation. Since you've done something she doesn't really like, part of her goal will be too get rid of humans in order to get rid of the corruption since humanity is the weak link that keeps letting the corruption back into the world. Things will be changing, and getting pretty dark, and you’ll see her archvillain story and at least part of the world, will transform.
