New World is doing some housekeeping, with a patch to fix a major issue with the Mutated Expeditions leaderboards and a separate downtime tomorrow for this and another issue.
The Amazon Games team released the Leaderboards feature this week after being in development for a while, with almost everything working, except for the Mutated Expeditions boards. Initially, the team said to just not open those boards, but eventually wound up temporarily disabling that section entirely until there could be a fix.
There was a patch released this afternoon, but after that went live, since no downtime was needed to apply the fix, things seem to need a bit more help. The update after the patch says that “UPDATE: The Mutations Leaderboards may still appear broken until regional restarts are performed.”
Tomorrow, there’s some planned downtime for a server restart across all regions, and they’re hopeful that this will also help with the continued Mutated Expedition leaderboards issue.
On that second issue, it has to do with resource nodes, with players reporting trouble gathering resources. This seems to be a wide issue, since the server restarts will be happening across all regions. The announcement says to expect the servers to experience about 45 minutes of downtime once the restart time arrives in your region.
The first restart in Australia is happening at the time this is published. That will be followed by Central Europe, South America, US-East, and finally, US-West, with that final restart beginning around 5 AM PST.
The resource gathering issue may be something that needs more than just a restart to fix, and they promise to work on a permanent fix. These restarts are something they’ll keep doing until that permanent fix is sorted out.
“Our goal is to continue these restarts weekly if there are no other prescheduled downtimes until there is a permanent fix,” it says in the announcement of restart times.
