New World’s latest update says goodbye to Winter Convergence for now, opens the Legacy of Crassus event, adds new shop skins, and makes some combat tweaks. The team is also talking their favorite characters in Aeternum in a new dev chat.

Legacy of Crassus is back, this time with new and returning rewards. You’ll be able to secure all of the event rewards with 12 victories in this group event. As long as you do at least 1,000 damage, you’ll get some rewards. Even after you’ve secured all items, you can still get other useful loot from the event, which ends on January 23rd.

The in-game shop has new Ronin’s Shadow skins and some new emotes to collect. There are also some new options for decorating your trusty mounts.

One change this week means that camps made by raid groups are now usable by anyone. You don't have to be in the group that made the camp in order to use it. They've also repaired a couple of bugs and exploits, including one in the Commander Loth boss fight that let players break the entire encounter just by damaging giant ice elemental. That was clearly not the way you were supposed to take him down. More assorted bugs got fixed, including visual skin bugs, and annoying issues that prevented proper loot drops or the right quest reward characters spawning.

The New World team is also discussing their favorite characters in the game, in the latest Forged in Aeternum video. Members of the quest team highlighted characters like Grace O'Malley, because It was up early in the seasonal narrative and while she can be your friend, she doesn't hold back expressing opinions. Others cited include Morgain, and even Adiana, for her “prickly nature” that comes across as amusing, but also for her important arc overall.

And Dog. They didn’t forget Dog.
