A new 16 minute video showcases some War Mode PvP gameplay from New World.

The video was part of IGN’s Summer of Gaming event which is currently ongoing. In the video, Mitch and Nick from the IGN team group with Mike Willette and Dave Verfaillie from Amazon Game Studios as they partake in War Mode.

The PvP shown off consists of base capture, in addition to an assault on the castle. It’s quite hectic, as Mitch and Nick gun for each other during the melee. Several spells are shown off, and you can get some idea as to the general flow of War Mode PvP for New World.

Additionally, in case you missed it, we recently had the chance to sit down with David Verfaillie to talk about combat, PvP, and much more. It’s quite a lengthy interview with several details shared. For example, whenever talking about PvP, balance becomes important. To that end, David shared,

“We do make balance changes on a very frequent basis in the Alpha. Every month when we release a new patch, we do have a number of combat balance changes, and we're going to continue to do so. I think there are a large number of moving pieces. You know, I think with a classless combat system, there's just a lot of variables and in any MMO with all the gear there's so many variables in terms of combat, we're doing our best to balance it.”
