New World has been on a bit of an upswing lately, with some new servers, and the huge Brimstone Sands update coming on October 18th. Now, after community requests, Amazon has announced the opening of Fresh Start worlds on November 2nd.
When it comes to New World, the brief announcement laid out the rules of what to expect from these servers when they open:
“All coins, loot, and characters must originate in these servers. That means no powerful or rich Adventurers can transfer into any of the new worlds. A blank canvas complete with a revamped starting experience awaits. What will you claim?”
It’s all pretty straightforward, since the point of fresh start servers is to have a level playing field, a new economy, and fresh goals to conquer. With the opening in early November, the team’s plan is “using the time between the Brimstone Sands release and the opening of these worlds to ensure you have a high quality, fresh start”.
New World is marking its first anniversary, and while there have been some notable bumps in the road, recent developments have been more positive.
In the Brimstone Sands update, there will be a number of new features, the new zone, and new content, but another thing coming with the update is an overhauled early game experience. This fits right in with Fresh Start servers too, especially if players feel like now’s the time to introduce friends to the game.
The content right now on the PTR includes the Brimstone Sands update and the revamped new player experience and early storyline.
Fresh Start servers are having a bit of a moment in a number of games recently. ArcheAge and ArcheAge: Unchained, RuneScape and Old School RuneScape, World of Warcraft Classic, and others are all running, or will be soon, fresh start servers.
