Amazon is going to be enabling most wealth transfers in New World, after a period of downtime this afternoon. After disabling all wealth transfers again yesterday, the limited restrictions seem to be a way to remain hopeful that they can balance continued work on fixes while minimizing the damage.
The period of downtime is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m Pacific/5pm Eastern, and last for about three hours. What transfers will be re-enabled for the most part, with a couple of exceptions. Housing decoration items will come back marked non-tradable on a temporary basis. Players who were immobilized will reapawn properly as a result of the fix.
When it comes to settlements and taxes, Amazon promises that companies that are affected by the damage from not having access to transfers, and had their settlements degrades will be compensated with the upcoming November update.
While New World, launched with high concurrent player levels and enthusiasm, the frustrating weeks since release have seen a number of exploits and Amazon moving in quickly to try and address them. Gold dupe exploits have sprung up a couple of times and this is the second time all wealth transfers were disabled. Luckily, this time they will be mostly available again soon.
When the game comes back up, there is no estimate on how long that housing items will be non-tradable, but this seems an effort to minimize how much of the game is inaccessible and still protect the economy and help those who actually play by the rules. We've been down this road before with New World, but the fact that they are fixing this one more rapidly we can take cautiously as a hopeful sign.
