New World brings Cross-World Expeditions and the Improved Group Finder to the game tomorrow, along with new combat adjustments, fixes, and a February store showcase.
This is the centerpiece of the update. These new systems should help with the population concerns that sometimes arise, as well as just finding a good group quickly for an Expedition. You can choose from regular or Mutated Expeditions. You have a choice to make: pick a random match for the instance and get special buffs to help compensate for being in a random group, or tailor your own searches for more control, but no bonus. The team took a deep dive into the new features this week, ahead of the features finally landing after a few delays, including intended ones to make sure to get it polished.
Mutated Expeditions will increase to three offerings a week, starting with the first rotation tomorrow, after the update. This extra rotation is a change for the week, but it ushers in the new systems.
The team also fixes a couple of issues in this update, including addressing some instances of bugged quests and instances. They also fix an issue that was letting players without the Rise of the Angry Earth expansion to get unusable loot that was above 625 gear score. With New World’s efforts to get people better, more appropriate gear drops, this stands out.
Finally, February is bringing some new items to the shop, with the Winter Mercenary outfit, and other new items.
Downtime is set to begin at 1 AM PT overnight. See the full notes at New World.
