New World: Aeternum’s Season 7, Season of Conquerors, launches on January 21st. The new season promises Expedition upgrades, the introduction of Seasonal Worlds (PvP-focused), fixes, and rewards.
The Amazon team mentioned Seasonal Worlds in their recent post-relaunch development update. These are fresh start servers opening for just the season. They’re themed and feature their own rules, abilities, and even new unique items. Season 7’s theme is: PvP.
If you decide to roll a character on these servers, you will auto-flag for PVP once you hit Level 15. There are new resources and gear that you can get your hands on, with the caveat that items drop upon death. But if you are willing to take the risk, the rewards can be pretty impressive. At the end of the season you can transfer to a permanent server.
On all servers, the season also offers a new Outpost Rush map: Coral Divide. The map features a central trench that divides the battlefield. There are also NPCs housed in the area too. Your team’s tasks in the PvPvE mode will be to build some bridges and create pathways for your team to strategically use. Before the map debuts, it will get a preview weekend, with timing to be announced. OPR itself gets some improvements, from updated shop offerings to map improvements and better matchmaking.
Season 7 also adds new Artifacts. The season announcement listed eight that give you bonuses ranging from increased damage, sacrificing damage to cause increased burn effects, automatically recharging your healing potions while you hit, and you can even cause enemies to bleed on headshot. These add some variety and additional build customization options.
PvErs also have some things to look forward to in the new season. Promised Expedition improvements and upgrades are coming. M3 Expeditions will get unified gear mutations, upgraded loot, and even matchmaking improvements with integration of the Activity Finder. Expeditions also get some important bug fixes.
The season will bring back the in-game events Siege of Sulfur, Legacy of Crassus, and Rabbit's Revenge. These will feature their rewards and we'll see if the team is planning anything new for these events this season.
Finally, expect new free and premium Season Pass reward tracks. We’ll likely get full details later, but the free track includes two of the new artifacts, and the premium track includes those plus new weapon and armor skins, new emotes, and more. Both tracks will get you transmog and dyes and other useful items.
