The New World: Aeternum console closed beta is set to open tomorrow. Amazon is sharing details on testing goals, the content that will feature, and event schedules.
The cross-play closed beta will begin on July 25th at 9:00 a.m. Pacific in North America and Europe. Players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X can participate and help the Amazon team refine the experience before the whole thing goes live on October 15th. If you do not have an invite yet and you're interested, check out our PlayStation 5 - North America / PlayStation 5 Europe key giveaway and Xbox key giveaway to claim yours.).
Once you have a key, preload is already available. There is an NDA this time.
The beta will concentrate on a number of areas, with the focus on new player onboarding and the first-time user experience in the first phase. The second phase will begin on July 28th, and this part will focus on endgame content. Since Amazon will be adding two entirely new platforms in a cross-platform, cross-play experience alongside the PC community, it's clear why taking time to solidify the new player experience and the onboarding process are important.
The second phase will let you create a new character and pick a level 65 preset to play with. If you don't want to create a new character and you simply want to play the character you started back in phase1, you can do that too.

If you pick a preset character, you'll get endgame gear, weapons, max level attribute points, and full access to all weapon masteries. Once you're geared up, you'll be ready to take on endgame content, play around with builds, skills, and get a better idea of what kind of playstyle you might go for.
Amazon has scheduled three endgame content tests from July28-30th: Influence Races, Outpost Rush, and testing the Lawless PvPvE zone. To participate in these tests you'll have to join the North American server and test at the scheduled times (all Pacific time).
The full announcement has all the details on content, what is and isn’t available in the beta build, and the event schedule times.
