New World: Aeternum is bringing back the Fury of the Spriggan event in the latest update which is due to arrive overnight. Fight the Spriggan in groups, claim rewards, and repeat.

Downtime for the update is set to begin tonight at 11:00 p.m. Pacific time and once the new patch goes live, Summer Medleyfaire will pack up the music until next year and it will be Dryad invasion time once more starting tomorrow. If you're new to this event,  what you have to know is that the Earth is a little bit restless and perhaps a little angry, so here come the Dryads.

They're trying to take over Aeternum, and start turning up in various areas–Brightwood, Brimstone Sands, Ebonscale Reach, Edengrove, and Mourningdale–to be specific. In order to face them you'll have to get a group together of 20 or more players for this open world event starting tomorrow. As you prepare to face these enemies you can construct flame braziers to strengthen your weapons and give you a better chance at slaying them.

Each time you are victorious, you’ll get rewards including a level appropriate procedural weapon or armor piece that is guaranteed to be Rare or better. You'll also get a roll for container resources, another roll of level appropriate consumables, and one Obsidian Gypsum. There are also daily bonus rewards that you can claim up to three times a day until the reset at 5:00 a.m. local time. These bonus rewards include one event-only Mossborne weapon, one event-only Mossborne armor piece, 20 Dark Matter, and chances at additional rewards. Every special cache you open also includes a 2% roll for a Spriggan Flame Brazier housing item, with that percentage going up every time during the event period.

The patch also includes a few fixes, including to Life Staff and Bow, which both had bugs associated with canceling abilities, and an additional exploitable dodge bug.
