Nexon showed off new trailers and emphasized some restrcturing plans. At a showcase, the company’s new co-CEOs revealed details on upcoming projects, G-STAR presence, and expanding franchises like MapleStory and Dungeon Fighter.

Featured games includes the upcoming action RPG The First Berserker: Khazan, which got a new cinematic trailer focusing on the narrative and combat, showing off tragic events and Khazan defeating a number of enemies and vowing revenge. The game is expected on PC and PlayStation and Xbox consoles in 2025. Nexon says they conducted a technical test earlier this month to positive feedback, particularly on the style and the combat. We'll see more at G-STAR next month.

Action RPG Vindictus: Defying Fate got its first new trailer since the pre-alpha back in the spring. Set in the Mabinogi Heroes/Vindictus  universe, the trailer introduces a few new characters and showcases battle. We can expect another round of alpha next summer.

Nexon is also looking to continue finding ways to expand its core franchises: MapleStory, Dungeon Fighter, and FC (EA Sports FC Online). Specifically, they are looking at vertical expansion and horizontal expansion around the core franchises and beyond. Vertical expansion applies to what they call, in a press release, what they're calling “deepening the value of the IP” on those franchises, and horizontal expansion could include integrating live service experience into additional developments or even new publishing opportunities.

Restructuring is happening all over, and Nexon is one of a number of companies going back to their core IPs and sharing at least some part of their future direction around them.
