MechWarrior Online has been updated with a new content patch that brings the Solaris 7 game mode on board. Solaris provides both 1v1 and 2v2 arena-style game play that, according to devs, fits the BattleTech lore "in terms of gladiatorial combat". Players will be able to climb leader boards and find unique rewards that are not found in any other part of the game.
Anyone can participate in the Solaris Games, for both the 1 vs 1 and 2 vs 2 Divisions. Before participating in the Solaris 7 Games however, players must first select a Patron for the Division they wish to play in. Divisions differ from each other in terms of the 'Mechs allowed to be used in combat. For example, 'Mechs in Division 1 cannot be used in combat against 'Mechs in Division 2.
Also in the patch are new Solaris 7 Hero Pack Mechs, new Bolt-On mech customizations, Mech Bay 2.0, new Supply Caches and various bug fixes and feature enhancements.
