New Pet System Provides Defensive Player Buffs

When the next Blade & Soul update, Vengeance Breaks, is released on June 1st, players at level 50 will be able to obtain and collect a variety of pets from Heroic dungeons or pet pouches from the Hongmoon Store. Pets are not just eye candy either as each one, depending on rarity, can provide a powerful defensive boon to players. 

The higher the pet's level, up to Stage 10, the better the defensive bonuses provided. Pets can be leveled by salvaging lesser pets for Enhancement Stones to upgrade Heroic quality pets through evolve screens. Devs liken the system to weapon upgrades.

While pets don’t fight in combat or take damage, they will need a supply of Petnip to eat. Your pet will show a countdown timer of how long it will provide its defensive bonus when mousing over its summoning item. When that time runs out, the pet will unsummon and you’ll lose the buff. But by transmuting Petnip and using it to refill their meter, you can continue to receive their sweet, sweet defensive benefits. Thanks little guy!
