Pax Dei’s recent Wilderness Alpha may be over, but the Mainframe team is sharing stats on all things alpha, from number of invites, the top player-slaying animals, most populated province, how many hours played, and much more.
The team already announced that they were planning to invite more than 100,000 players to this test, and that's exactly what they did. It was more than 100,000 players, average hours played during the alpha was 8 hours 49 minutes. the test lasted for about 1 week, so it may seem on the short side, but the test began on a tuesday. as for that most populated province, that was Merrie, while least populated was Inis Gallia. Most populated Home Valley choice was Shite, and the least was Salias.
Even if you did not tread into the PVP province, there was still a whole lot of danger to encounter in the world. There were 340, 486,000 total player deaths, with 56,101 of those by falling. and additional 6,012 players by drowning. Zebians and inquisitors were each responsible for an almost even number of player deaths, with 41,310 and 40,405, respectively.
And then there was the wildlife. The top animal responsible for player deaths was the boar, with over 94,500 of them. On the flip side, players killed more than 1,407,000 boars. More than 59k players were slain by wolves, and over 26k fell victim to bears. A special group, 848 players, were killed by badgers. Beware the jumpscares.
The most visited dungeon was The Carcinoma, and the least visited, Zebeum Plison, was visited by no one. Let’s see if Mainframe makes getting there more enticing in the future. Everyone collectively chopped down more than 9 million trees, consumed almost two and a half million items, and crafted over 7 million clay.
Overall, it looks like there was much happening over the weeklong big alpha. One thing that is not represented in these stats is anything PvP-related. With the introduction of open PvP province Lyonesse (albeit limited) and an emphasis on combat and PvP, that info is something we would’ve expected.
Pax Dei will next be headed into Early Access.
