This weekend, at a Monster Hunter event in Japan, Capcom revealed a profound sidestep in the Monster Hunter series, which will turn players into monster riders, as opposed to hunters.
The new game, Monster Hunter Stories, will be available in 2016 in Japan for the Nintendo 3DS. Not much has been revealed about when the U.S. will see it, or even what the gameplay will entail, but producer Ryozo Tsujimoto had this to say:
"While staying true to the world of Monster Hunter, and a story that can only be told through an RPG, we'd like to pack it with fun and enjoyment that we can't even begin to describe with words.”
