A new cyberpunk MMORPG called Corepunk has been announced from developer Artificial Core.
The official website contains more details, along with a trailer below:
A top-down isometric RPG self-described as “part cyberpunk, part Diablo, part Ultima Online,” Corepunk features a seamless world with the fog of war. Additionally, professions, PvP battlegrounds, dungeons, monsters in unique camps, guilds, farms, quests, and rich lore are also promised.
"In PvP, the top-down view and fog-of-war give rise to new tactics and strategies: ambushing, rushing from out of nowhere, luring foes into a gang hidden in the shadows. By controlling the distance between you and your enemy, keeping an eye on your abilities' cooldowns, and knowing each character's strengths and weaknesses, you'll even be able to conquer enemies apparently stronger than you. Victories against other players are rewarded through the Honor Points system. A karma system prevents weaker players from being steamrolled."
According to the FAQ, the business model has yet to be announced. Also revealed was:
- day/night cycle
- movement mapped to mouse, abilities mapped to keyboard
- healer, tank, DPS roles with hybrid variations
The official site also boasts plenty of screenshots featuring wilderness, towns, and more. If interested, you can sign up for beta here.
